In a world where certain people can magically Weave wicker, Taproot serves as a Orchard Keeper. The last of the tree spirits of the Great Forest, it was his people who originally taught humans wicker. After being struck by lightening and going on a rampage, he was subdued and now aids the community of Wickerton.
